Supporting the Community

G. Alan’s Fine Jewelry & Coin supports many local non-profit and charitable organizations. Mustard Seed is one that touches many people throughout St. Lucie County.

Mustard Seed Ministries is entering their seventh year of the Summer Food Program for children on free and reduced lunch. The program is for children who qualify and receive breakfast and lunch at school; during the summer, if they do not live near a feeding site school parents are forced to come up with additional funds for food which may result in parents not being able to pay their rent or utilities.

Mustard Seed Ministries provides approximately 20 to 25 pounds of food each week for 10 weeks of the summer which helps the families continue to work on their sustainable plans. In 2014, they served 200 families for all 10 weeks of the summer; due to the success of the One Day to Give food drive, they will be able to add 50 new families to the 2015 Summer Food Program. If you need help this summer, please call (772) 465-6021. Limited space is available. You must live in St. Lucie County and have at least one child on free and reduced lunch.

“It’s a great organization that helps people who truly need it,” stated Greg Childress, Owner of G. Alan’s. “We’ve been volunteering for years and encourage others to join us.”
